Relocating to a new country brought exciting challenges and fresh experiences. In this interview, Wellington shares what it was like to emigrate, how he\u2019s enjoying his work, and how Outtask supported him throughout the process.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row el_id=”welkom”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

A warm welcome and great support<\/h2>\n

Before joining Outtask, Wellington lived and worked in S\u00e3o Paolo, the largest city in Brazil and the entire western hemisphere. Moving to the Netherlands introduced him to many new experiences. \u201cOn my first day, we went out for lunch, and I was expecting something warm, like we have in Brazil. But instead, it was a typical Dutch lunch with sandwiches and juice,\u201d he recalls. Small cultural differences like these took some getting used to but have now become part of the charm of living in a new country.<\/p>\n

Wellington felt well-supported by Outtask during this transition. \u201cOuttask helped me with all the paperwork needed for my move, as well as finding a place to live here. They also coached me on integration and prepared me for what to expect in Dutch job interviews.\u201d This level of support helped him settle into his new environment quickly.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

Outtask has been amazing in supporting my move and making me feel like a true part of the team.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Challenges that keep work interesting<\/h2>\n

Wellington\u2019s first assignment was at BMG, part of the ING Group, where he encountered a challenging work environment right away. \u201cMy first project at BMG was something I didn\u2019t have much experience with yet. Add to that the fact that I was working in a new country with colleagues I didn\u2019t know, and you can imagine it was initially quite challenging.\u201d<\/p>\n

But Wellington thrives on challenges. \u201cEvery time, there\u2019s something new to tackle. One day we\u2019re migrating a platform, another time implementing new technologies, and sometimes working on APIs. These challenges keep the work interesting and help me continually learn and grow in my field.\u201d[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row el_id=”erbij-horen”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

Feeling truly included<\/h2>\n

Of course, Wellington remains a part of the Outtask family, and this connection means a lot to him\u2014not just because Outtask helps with practical matters. \u201cFrom the beginning, I\u2019ve felt like I truly belong. We have at least one meeting a month with Outtask, and they don\u2019t just ask about my work but also about my personal life and how I\u2019m settling into the Netherlands. Outtask genuinely cares about its employees and wants the best for them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wellington also appreciates the opportunities Outtask provides to connect with colleagues, even though many are on assignments at different companies. \u201cI\u2019m friends with a few colleagues here, and I see them regularly. But for most of my Outtask colleagues, our paths don\u2019t often cross. That\u2019s why the events Outtask organizes are great\u2014they give us a chance to meet new people and strengthen our connections.\u201d[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row el_id=”plezier”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

Enjoying work at Outtask<\/h2>\n

Overall, Wellington is happy at Outtask and has no plans to leave anytime soon. \u201cMaybe in the future, I\u2019ll want a different role, but Outtask often has those opportunities. I\u2019d love to continue working here, even if I take on a new assignment later.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also has a piece of advice for other international professionals considering working at Outtask: \u201cLearn some Dutch before you move here. It makes everything a bit easier.
