A conversation with Jean Pablo: I’m incredibly grateful to Outtask

Jean Pablo is a senior Java developer and a valued member of the Outtask family. Currently working for one of our clients, he shared his journey with us—from his life before Outtask to building a new chapter in the Netherlands.

A new adventure at Outtask

Jean Pablo has been with Outtask for about a year and a half. Before that, he worked as a developer and technical lead in Brazil for a major e-commerce company, often called “the Amazon of South America.” Although successful in his career, he felt ready for a new challenge and wanted to take on an international adventure. “I was looking for opportunities abroad—in places like Canada, the U.S., or Europe. Then I received a message from Outtask on LinkedIn.”

From the first conversation with Outtask, Jean Pablo had a good feeling. “The process was very smooth. Everyone I spoke to was incredibly kind. What stood out was how they immediately reassured me about the relocation to the Netherlands. They gave me confidence by explaining how they’d guide me through every step.” Feeling enthusiastic and supported, Jean Pablo quickly decided to embark on this new adventure with Outtask.

The move to the Netherlands

Moving to the Netherlands involved more than simply boarding a plane. “You hear about the housing market in the Netherlands—it’s not easy. Besides practical challenges, like finding a home and arranging documents, there was also the emotional aspect. My wife and I were leaving behind family and friends, stepping into the unknown.”

Jean Pablo made the move with his wife and, of course, their two dogs. “Outtask arranged an apartment for us, where we stayed for the first three months. It was amazing because it gave us time to adjust to living in the Netherlands. This wasn’t just practical—it provided emotional comfort in a new environment.”

“After those three months, we moved into our new house, and our dogs joined us. Throughout the process, Outtask regularly checked in to see how I was doing. They supported me not only professionally but also personally. Once we were settled, I could fully focus on my new job.”

Freedom to do work that fits

Once settled, Jean Pablo started working with Outtask and is now on assignment at ABN Amro. “The work is challenging. ABN has many clients, each with unique needs. It keeps me learning new things all the time. I also appreciate the flexibility I have to approach my work in my own way. Plus, the communication with my manager at ABN is excellent. I feel free to be myself and do work that truly suits me.”

Jean Pablo also values the Dutch work culture. “In Brazil, I worked 12 to 14 hours a day. Here, after eight hours, people say, ‘Go home, your wife is waiting for you.’ This better work-life balance is ideal. I now spend more time with my wife and feel more energized and motivated in my work.”

Outtask is always there for you, both professionally and personally. They make transitioning to a new country seamless and give you the confidence that you can always count on them.

Outtask is always there for me

Jean Pablo remains a proud member of the Outtask family. “Outtask is always there for me. If I ever get stuck, they do everything they can to help. This goes beyond just work—they’ve supported me with personal matters too. For instance, when I needed to visit city hall to get my driver’s license, they offered help. They’ve assisted me with everything from paperwork to housing, and they’ve given me the reassurance that I can always rely on them. For that, I’m incredibly grateful to Outtask.”

A future in the Netherlands—and with Outtask

Jean Pablo loves his work and his new life in the Netherlands. His future, he says, is here—and with Outtask. “My main goal is to improve my Dutch. Professionally, I want to earn more certifications and use my skills and experience to help Outtask’s clients. What’s great is that Outtask fully supports me in this. They provide opportunities to grow and keep learning. I see myself staying here for a long time—maybe forever.”

For anyone considering working with Outtask, Jean Pablo has some advice: “Come to the Netherlands. It’s an amazing place. And Outtask is always there for you, something I’m deeply grateful for. They help you not only professionally but also make the move to a new country as smooth as possible. Outtask truly has a special place in my heart.”
