Igor recently joined Outtask as an account manager. In this interview, he talks about his first period at Outtask, what it’s like transitioning from a different industry to his current role, and what makes working at Outtask special. “Helping companies gives me a great feeling.”
“The Click Was Instant”
Just a few months ago, Igor was working as an account manager in the online marketing industry but was looking for a new challenge. “I wanted a role where I could have more direct contact with clients and help companies with their growth challenges.”
When Outtask approached him for an interview, he immediately saw potential. “During our initial conversations, I gained a clear picture of the organization and the opportunities available. The meetings felt comfortable, and I immediately sensed a professional yet personal atmosphere.”
His transition turned out to be a great choice. “The personal contact, the dynamics of sales, and the opportunity to genuinely help businesses convinced me to make the switch.”
A Structured and Effective Onboarding Process
Coming from a different sector, Igor’s onboarding was especially crucial. He not only had to become familiar with Outtask and its working methods but also had to acquire a lot of new knowledge. “I received extensive guidance to quickly absorb the necessary information. From day one, the onboarding was well-organized. I got a clear schedule with weekly planned trainings, so I knew exactly what was expected of me and what knowledge I needed to gain.”
Igor quickly noticed he could approach any of his colleagues if he encountered any issues. “It feels very welcoming here. Even though I was new and came from another industry, I felt extremely welcome. Besides the one-on-one substantive guidance, I quickly realized everyone was ready to help, whatever I needed.”
Consultants Truly Feel Part of Outtask
The involvement Igor experienced within Outtask is also something he sees among the consultants. “I sense that consultants genuinely feel part of Outtask. Many of them work with different clients, but when you speak with them, it immediately feels familiar. Ensuring that consultants feel at home with us is something we highly value.”
He recalls a special moment: “During the holidays, I brought a Christmas gift to one of our consultants. We started chatting and spent over an hour and a half discussing his experiences in the Netherlands and his connection with Outtask. He emphasized how important our support has been for him and how appreciated he felt. Moments like these illustrate that our relationships go beyond just business.”
Freedom and Responsibility in Your Role
Igor has now been working in his new role for four months and has a clear sense of what he enjoys about his work. “You speak with clients who have specific needs. When we offer and deliver the perfect solution, it’s extremely satisfying. We can genuinely help these clients. Thanks in part to Outtask’s acquisitions, we have solutions for a wide range of client needs. Helping these companies gives me a great feeling.”
Another appealing aspect of the job is the freedom Igor has in deciding which types of companies to approach. With freedom also comes responsibility. “I am expected to continuously improve my knowledge and skills. Thankfully, Outtask provides ample support. Being able to independently visit clients after just a few weeks also shows the trust the company has in me, which feels very rewarding.”
A Strong Company Culture and Future Prospects
Overall, Igor is very happy at Outtask. “The company culture here is warm and open. We work hard together, but there’s also room for humor. Everyone can speak openly, contributing to a pleasant working environment. Many companies might claim this, but it often feels different in practice. At Outtask, however, I genuinely experience that it’s enjoyable to work here.”
Igor is also optimistic about Outtask’s growth prospects. “The demand for specialized IT professionals continues to grow. Nearshoring is playing an increasingly important role, offering many opportunities for growth. My focus is on expanding our client portfolio further and connecting companies with the right experts. That will be my main priority.”
